Photo Mechanic 6 and Photo Mechanic Plus will run on any Mac running MacOS 10.11 El Capitan or later.

If your Mac has an Apple Silicon-based processor, Photo Mechanic will require an emulation layer called Rosetta 2 in order to run. The first time you launch Photo Mechanic, or any other application that requires Rosetta 2, your operating system will prompt you to install it.

Please see Apple's documentation to learn more about Rosetta 2

There are no known issues in the most recently released builds of Photo Mechanic and Photo Mechanic Plus that can be attributed to emulation via Rosetta 2.

Our testing of Photo Mechanic under Rosetta 2 emulation has shown performance that is as good as or better than the same version of Photo Mechanic running on an Intel-based Mac. If you do encounter an issue with Photo Mechanic, please get in touch our Support Team, they are happy to help!

A future version of Photo Mechanic will bring native support to Macs with M1 Processors, but we do not currently have a timeline for when this new version will be released.
