Star Ratings & Color Classes between Software

Star Ratings & Color Classes between Software

Photo software, such as Adobe Lightroom Classic® and Capture One® can recognize star ratings and color classes. However, in order for this to work, the text label for each class must be exactly the same in each app. If the editing program you are using supports language localization and the system language is set to a language other than English, the label name text in the Color Classes section should be manually entered to match the language used by the other program. We also suggest changing the colors to better match the app you're using. Photo Mechanic has preference snapshots to make this easier. To set your preferences for commonly used apps:

  1. Go to Preferences.
  2. Choose General.
  3. Select the Snapshot button (the lightning bolt).
  4. Choose the appropriate option, and then select OK to apply the changes.

You can save your own label names as a new Snapshot by:

  1. Select the lightning bolt Snapshot button
  2. Select Save
  3. Enter a name for the new Snapshot in the Save Settings Snapshots window
  4. Select OK
